Wedding Ceremony - Tips from a Celebrant, ignore at your peril! Reminder!

Coming into wedding season again, and we thought that we would re publish this post.... It was some great tips regarding wedding ceremonies!

I had a really interesting conversation in the Paramount Event Hire Showroom with one the Hunter Valley' s most prominent celebrants -  Fiona from Heart Felt Occasions.  Fiona made a comment that really resonated with me  - she stressed the importance of the wedding ceremony for setting the scene and tone for your the rest of your wedding day.  Fiona commented 'I have seen so many couples skimp on such items such as chairs for their guests, often borrowing mis-matched ones from friends.  Or not paying any attention to decorating the aisle - a simple bamboo arch, or carpet that signals to the guests exactly where you will be walking down the aisle and 'here comes the bride'.

Jodi and Sung's wedding ceremony at Peterson's Champagne House Pokolbin

Another stunning day at Peterson’s Champagne House in October for Jodi and Sung’s wedding ceremony on the lawn, followed by the reception inside the venue.  Jodi chose our white folding chairs,  shepherd’s hooks, and flowers in hanging vintage bottles by Jade McIntosh lining the aisle.

To complement the vintage theme, Jodi chose our white washed black board frame, with a very cute greeting, and vintage bike with flowers

For refreshments on a hot spring day, Jodi also had a lemonade stand constructed out of our wine barrels and recycled wood plank.  We provided the drink dispensers  however the bride and groom provided the refreshments to go inside them.

CJ and Arv's beautiful outdoor reception on the Tamburlaine lawn

It was a stunning October long weekend afternoon.  Rain had threatened during the week, but the day dawned clear and bright for CJ and Arv’s wedding at Tamburlaine Winery in Pokolbin.

Hosting a combination of Hindu and Sri Lankan Ceremonies on the lawn at Tamburlaine, CJ and Arv looked amazing in their traditional costumes.

Are you planning a beach ceremony - issues brides fail to consider

Azure blue ocean, gently lapping waves, palm trees swaying gently in the breeze, golden sand stretching to the water's edge.  All your guests barefooted on the sand, casually waiting for you and your man to saying your personalised vows under the beautifully draped bamboo arch.   Got the idea?  STOP!

Is it only me, but have you noticed that only picture perfect images of beach ceremonies seem to be promoted on Pinterest?   Tranquil, perfect tropical vistas, with not a frangipani filled breeze in the air, everything arranged beautifully on the beach.  Not a stray blow dried hair in place! Unfortunately, sometimes,  this is not really the reality….
