Last week we heard of a very unfortunate story of a bride that bought her marquee for cocktail wedding reception off ebay.
The bride had spent hours agonising over minute details of her wedding day. She had paid SO much attention to her bridesmaids dresses, wedding flowers, vintage reception decorations, the hand crafted invitations. She looked absolutely stunning on the day, surrounded by her bridesmaids and waiting nervously for her gorgeous groom. Yet, for her romantic vintage wedding in the Hunter Valley, it was ruined, when the cheap, flimsy, online purchase crumbled in the horrendous rain and wind that swept through just before the nuptials were about to commence. Umbrella anyone? No, needed more like Noah's Ark. NOT, like the marquee featured in this video, this one is professional.
Was the marquee up for the job? Was is sturdy enough to handle gusts of wind? What were the consequences if it had tumbled away, and injured guests? There is a reason why there are professional event hire companies, that install marquees every weekend, and professional Wedding Co-ordinators that organise them every weekend; would you go to your high school math teacher to get your tax done? No, I didn't think so. Not to mention you and your guests will be left stranded in the pouring rain, without cover. Where do you go now? Did you have a back up plan? Great start to a wedding, huh?
